Ahenny Celtic High Cross Crafted in Pewter on adjustable full length black chord.
This high cross is found in Co. Tipperary. There are two high crosses at Ahenny, both of which imitate the earlier wooden crosses. The raised bosses represent the studs that would have kept the wooden crosses together. The south cross stands 3.9m tall and is made of sandstone. The carving features intricate Celtic designs and four figure carvings on the base.
